<image:caption>Available now: Wednesdays & Thursdays All ages Qualifications & Trainings: Bachelor of Psychology – Macquarie University; Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) – Australian College of Applied Professions; Master of Professional Psychology – Southern Cross University; Certified Hypnotherapist – Tad James Company; Trained in Family Based Treatment (FBT) for Anorexia Nervosa – Inside Out Institute Lilly is a warm, grounded, and passionate provisional psychologist and certified hypnotherapist who supports children, adolescents, adults, and families through an integrative, neuro-affirming approach to mental health and wellbeing. She brings experience working within integrative health settings, and is deeply passionate about collaborative, multidisciplinary care that supports the whole person — mind, body, nervous system, and environment. At Byron Equine Therapy & Psychology, Lilly works primarily with neurodivergent children and adolescents, including those with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) profiles. She has a strong interest in supporting emotional regulation, anxiety, stress, identity development, and relational challenges, and works closely with families to better understand each child’s unique nervous system, strengths, and needs. Lilly takes a strengths-based, affirming approach and values meeting each child where they are. She supports both the individual and their family system, helping parents and carers develop practical tools, insight, and confidence to support their child at home, school, and in the community. Her work is flexible, creative, and responsive, and she tailors therapy to suit each client’s developmental stage, capacity, communication style, and sensory profile. In addition to therapeutic support, Lilly provides NDIS-funded psychology capacity building sessions, offering developmentally informed, individualised care that aligns with each individual’s goals and broader support network. She also works with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and stress. Lilly incorporates equine-assisted and nature-based activities within her sessions, using the farm environment and interactions with horses as a therapeutic context to support engagement, emotional regulation, and capacity building. These activities are embedded within structured psychology sessions, goal-directed, and aligned with each client’s therapeutic goals, supporting skills such as regulation, confidence, communication, and emotional awareness. Lilly has a deep personal love for horses and nature, and values the way time outdoors and gentle, attuned interactions with animals can support nervous system regulation, presence, and learning — particularly for neurodivergent children and adolescents. Additionally, Lilly has training and experience in eating disorders and body image concerns, having worked within the Child and Adolescent Eating Disorder Service (CASEDs) and completed training in Family Based Treatment (FBT) through the Inside Out Institute. This experience informs her sensitive, family-centred, and systems-aware approach to care. She draws on evidence-based therapies and integrative approaches, and where appropriate incorporates elements of hypnotherapy to support emotional regulation, confidence, and deeper therapeutic change. Lilly is particularly passionate about creating a safe, attuned, and non-judgemental space where children and families feel understood, supported, and empowered. <image:title>Counselling - What do we offer?</image:title>
<image:caption>Your counselling session does not need to include equine-assisted therapy. Instead, you may prefer to use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, EMDR, or more. You will discuss this with your counsellor in your first session. Equine-assisted psychotherapy is a modality designed to support mental health concerns and disability needs by incorporating horse and nature connection exercises into therapy sessions. Sessions are highly creative, involving a certified mental health professional supporting clients to navigate therapeutic goals while engaging with horses and nature. Horses offer instant bio-feedback, experiences of co-regulation, reflections on relational styles and boundaries, moments of awareness and mindfulness, non-judgmental acceptance, and more! Sessions can be billed to NDIS funding under Core or Capacity Building.</image:caption>

<image:title>Counselling - An experience</image:title>
<image:caption>People find our therapies more experiential and embodied than speaking with a therapist in an indoor office. Sessions allow you to experience mindfulness, regulation, or emotional awareness, rather than just talking about it. How much you interact with the horses is completely up to you. It’s normal to be both inspired by horses and intimidated by them. We take these sessions very slowly, moving at your pace. We can create a beautiful equine therapy session by observing horse behaviour, from outside their paddock! We have a clinic office available for those who prefer their sessions indoors. You can also book telephone or Zoom (telehealth) sessions. These sessions can include mounted activities for children and youth under 60 kg.</image:caption>

<image:title>Counselling - Your co-therapists</image:title>
<image:caption>Our number one priority is to help you feel safe and connected, whilst simultaneously acknowledging the needs and preferences of our horses. We acknowledge that therapy sessions can be draining for horses, therefore, our horses receive bodywork, respite from therapy clients, frequent breaks, ample access to forage, and other restorative practices to ensure they are healthy, happy, and thriving.</image:caption>

<image:title>Old EAL page with Horse Wisdom - What is ‘Equine-Assisted Learning’ (EAL)?</image:title>
<image:caption>Equine-Assisted Learning is a unique method of facilitating which uses safe experiences with horses as the main teaching tool to build socio-emotional skills. This style of experiential learning is used for purposes of personal development, social- emotional and relationship skills building, enhancing quality of life, and professional development skills. We recommend enrolling in our popular 10-week Horse Wisdom Program- which covers valuable therapeutic goals such as: regulation; emotional literacy; healthy boundaries; supporting big emotions; and more. EAL sessions include mounted activities (for riders under 70kg). This is a wonderful program for people of all ages, and works especially well with teens, and children with Autism/ADHD. Sessions can be billed to NDIS funding under Core Supports.</image:caption>

<image:title>Old EAL page with Horse Wisdom - Why are sessions ‘mindfulness-based’?</image:title>
<image:caption>Mindfulness-based activities are integrated into the sessions to provide opportunities to practise self-regulation, increase awareness, and develop self-compassion. Exercises are drawn from evidence-based mindfulness programs and are tailored to suit each client’s trauma history. Time spent connecting with the natural world has enormous benefits for our physical and mental health, as research is quickly demonstrating. Nature connection increases our ability to be present in a non-judgemental and non-reactive way.</image:caption>
